Barbara Eggenberger

I was born and raised on the Swiss side of Lake Constance, in the east of the country. For my law studies I moved in 1995 to Zurich. After my graduation I stayed and work there now since seven years as legal assistant.

My interest for the African culture, people, nature and different life style began already in my childhood. I devoured books about Africa and my favorite doll was of dark complexion. However, not until I was 24 years old, I set for the first time in my life foot onto the "black continent" (in Egypt). The fascination is lasting since.

Through the foundation of  "Maisha Zanzibar" I satisfied my wish to become active and make a change for people which are not in the fortunate position to have a bed and a warm meal everyday.
