Malou Bürgi

Already as a child I was fascinated by remote countries and foreign cultures. In those times I travelled with my fingertips on the atlas and much fantasy around the globe. Many years later, after my graduation and completion of my apprenticeship I went to America where I lived and worked for six years.

There is no remedy for "the travelbug", so after my return to Switzerland I kept on travelling as much as possible. My travels led me to Morocco, Canada, Thailand and all over Europe.

Thanks to Robinson Crusoe, islands put a spell on me. I explored the Cape Verde, the Maldives, Corsica, various Greek islands, Iceland and Malta.

An island with the mystical name Zanzibar inspired my imagination for quite some time. So finally in 2005 I decided to visit the place to find out to which extent my fantasy would correspond with reality there - I was not disappointed at all.......
